After teams have registered their team, they may “play on” to the ladder at any time. This allows teams to “earn” their way onto the ladder at the right level for them by challenging other teams already on the ladder. Please follow these steps.
- Ensure that you have a minimum of 5 riders registered on your roster.
- Create a post in #play-on, tagging @race committee informing them that you are ready to enter the ladder.
- Once Race Committee have approved you will be “shadow ranked”, where you will be assigned a rank on the ladder and be able to challenge teams within your challenge range above. During this time you can only challenge, and not be challenged. Note: Ranking happens automatically at midnight each night (UTC), so check back the following day to see where you are ranked and who you can challenge.
- If you win your play on race, you’ll enter the ladder above the team you just played, if you fail to win you’ll need to challenge again until you win your place in the league.
- If you fail to win you will be added some number of places below the team you challenged. Work your way back up!
- When in PlayOn status, your team will only be able to arrange one race.
This is because when a team is on the ladder there are only a specific set of teams that you will be eligible to race against. Allowing multiple playOn fixtures would mean that you could race against teams outside this normal allowance.
Note: All play on races take place under identical rules to all other ladder races, including any special events or themes that might be in place at that time.
