Clarification of “season” v “transfer windows”
The league is ongoing at all times and teams may join and leave at any time. There is no regular “seasons” as such however the ladder is broken up by transfer windows every 60 days during which riders can move between teams, or during which race control might implement rule changes.
&
On a more infrequent basis we will need to move to a new season for admin purposes, this will most likely happen at September of every year but may happen at other ad hoc times depending on admin requirements.
Clarification on when a rider may or may not be moved or removed in season
Other than the cases noted above (rank spread, inactive rider) riders may not be removed or transferred from a team in season.
Details about planned women’s ladder
Women’s Ladder
Once a rider has been inactive on a roster for 30 days they become a free agent who can be moved freely, however note this does not free up a roster space if done during a season.
3/5/24
Note that as an interim measure, any ineligible rider who races in a ladder race will receive a short 10 day suspension, this is to stop the practice of ineligible riders “racing anyway to get a ranking”. In future we expect that ZR will exclude such races from their vELO calculation so “racing to get a rank” won’t work.
Publication of world class verification requirements (previously provided privately to captains)

24/4/24
Removed exception for Diamond riders to have 30D rank.
All riders must have a valid ZR 30 day rank to race.
Adjustment to ban lengths (not major infringement length was adjusted again after initial change, now correct).

Clarification of event request turnaround.
Zwift events team work EMEA working hours (Monday-Friday 9-5). You should allow up to 24 hours on a normal workday for event creation, though normally it will be done much quicker. Remember if you request an event over a weekend, you should still allow 24 hours on a workday (ie. 24 hours starting Monday 9am). If you request outwith EMEA working hours you may receive a generic response from out of hours support, you can ignore this. Note, they will use your email from the Ladder system so please make sure that it is correct, and that you are receiving email from the ladder email domain (check your spam!).

More detail added to rank spread rule.
In a team covering 3 ranks, the allowed spread of the team is the middle (median average) rider in a squad +- 1 rank, however if enough riders within a squad rank up or down beyond this 3 rank spread, and the captain chooses not to transfer them, this will change the team middle (median average), and therefore the riders that can be added to the squad. Essentially if enough of your riders rank up, the allowed rank of new riders will move upwards, and likewise downwards. To make this easy, the team dashboard will always visualise the rider ranks that may currently be added to the roster.
